All day inspiration

It was nice to know Niki de Saint Phalle's life size dolls were generally created from papier mâché. Probably I'd go over papier mâché again to create something more impressive than masks.
St. Basil's cathedral

Staring with wide-open eyes at the inside fittings and frescoes of the rooms of St. Basil's cathedral I thought it's a pity I can't name my blog "Wow! Russia!" and write about my exploration of the sights and everyday life here. The point is one of our students already made her own Wow Russia and it's really very funny and witty. Well, at least I can make a pattern based on St. Basil's frescoes, here it is. The original one is much better, I know, but it's always worth trying.
Wahoo

To spent Sunday at the Botanical garden was absolutely necessary. Autumn is the most colorful season here. I took in some color for the winter.

Who ate Toby

This set of matreshkas is dedicated to Toby, one of Gary Baseman's characters. The most dangerous dramatis personae of Russian fairy tales - a bear, a wolf and a fox - met Toby in the forest. God knows where he's now!

Base man

Gary Baseman is in Moscow these days. He's like a sparking-plug. An excellent example of how you'd live your life.
Kremlin

Inside the Kremlin wall there is another Russia. The oriental one, with its incredible mixture of buildings and richly decorated ornaments. My friend mentioned, it feels a little bit like Damascus.
